A Priority at Every Level
Vos Construction cares deeply for its employees. Safety has always been a number one priority and is something that is taken very seriously. All Vos Construction foremen and field workers have received either their OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Certificates. With an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) Score of 0.92, Vos Construction is recognized for its efforts in the areas of employee safety and risk reduction.
In-house safety materials including posters, charts, report forms/booklets and other descriptive materials are regularly produced and made available for each employee work area. By providing all necessary training and education to all employees, Vos Construction ensures that all employees are responsible for not only their own safety, but the safety of their fellow co-workers as well.
A Commitment to Risk Reduction
Vos Construction crews hold weekly toolbox talk meetings, as well as quarterly safety meetings. On the job, employees review specific tasks to ensure safety for each particular project. A written Hazard Communication/Right to Know Program provides employees information about hazardous chemicals on the work site. This includes container labeling, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and employee information and training.
When working with other contractors, Vos Construction superintendents provide all of the same safety information/material to the employees of other entities on the jobsite to make sure that all parties are on the same page when it comes to safety.
Continued Safety Training
Vos Construction also participates in the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Safety Training Evaluation Process or STEP Award. This ongoing safety development program is designed to help companies achieve world-class safety performance in construction.
Accidents cost time and money, but most of all, accidents cost lives. Safety programs are proven to be effective and that is why at Vos Construction, it is important to always practice safe work habits.
